Variation on unfinished poster by McClelland Barclay, successful artist, St. Louis native, graduate of Washington University School of Art. The poster was never finished and probably was meant for recruitment. Thought to be drawn in 1940-42. I "finished" with my ironic take. His work was pen and conte crayon on paper.
[link] While doing a tour of the South Pacific he died when Japanese torpedo ship he was on. I doubt copyright applies to work that old and indetented for the public domain and done on government funding. |
